COST CA20128 PIMENTO Project Leaders Meeting in Bratislava

The international COST project CA 20128 PIMENTO aimed at promoting innovation in the field of fermented foods, in which NPPC is represented in addition to the full members also in a close steering committee, organized a series of meetings (Core Group, Management Committee, Working Group 1) in Bratislava from 16 to 18 September 2024.

19 participants attended in person and 23 participants attended virtually. The aim of the meetings was to analyse the activities during the three years of the project (robust survey on fermented food consumption across Europe, preparation of the dossier for health claims on fermented foods for EFSA, creation of a cluster of innovative fermented food producers), to raise awareness of the project among the public and to prepare the activities for the next period, in particular the linking of the production and research spheres. An important part of the meeting was to discuss the future direction of the activities of the consortium of participants that has been formed within the PIMENTO project and to find effective tools to engage in calls and follow-up projects on the topic of fermented foods.
