World visit of the Biocentre in Modra
| 14-08-2024On 14 August 2024, the Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), QU Dongyu, visited the workplace of the National Agricultural and Food Centre - Food Research Institute (NPPC-VÚP) situated in Modra – Biocentre.
In addition to the Director-General, the delegation consisted of FAO Deputy Director-General and Head of the FAO Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia Viorel Gutu, Special Coordinator of the Crop Production and Conservation Division Yurdi Yasmi as well as representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Slovak Republic - State Secretary Vladimír Vnuk, Director of the Department of International Coordination Iveta Sampani Homolová and Permanent Representative of the Slovak Republic to the FAO Matej Hudec. Accompanied by Stanislav Baxa, Head of the Department of Technology, Innovation and Cooperation, the delegation toured the experimental halls of the Department, which are designed for the development and verification of food technologies. The visit also included a tasting of new products and a presentation of NPPC-VÚP activities, with an emphasis on cooperation with practice.
