From 11 to 14 October 2011 the Slovak Food Composition Data Bank, the Food Research Institute in Bratislava realized the Training course about documentation food composition data in the Uzhhorod National University (Ukraine) for 18 participants working in the area of medicine, nutrition, education and food technology. The aim of the training was to educate participants about production and use of food composition databases. One of the most well known uses of food composition data is in the assessment of nutrient intake at the individual, regional, national or international level. Important part of the training was documentation of food composition data by using data management program, which is developing in cooperation with programmers in the Slovak Food Composition Data Bank in compliance with EuroFIR project requirements. This training course was realized due to the financial support of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Slovak Republic in the frame of the Official Slovak Development Support Program enhances knowledge and creation of the national food composition databases in the Central and Eastern Europe and the Central Asia.
