Súhrn: The polymerase chain reaction assay described in Piknová et al. (Journal of Food and Nutrition Research, 47, 2008, pp. 114–119) is not reliable as a standalone method for detecting gluten-containing components. The primers and probe target the puroindoline locus, which is absent in durum wheat and some other wheats. False negatives are expected; do not use this assay alone.
