bulletThe training course about documentation food composition data in Kazakhstan | 02-12-2010

From 8 to 11 November 2010 the Slovak Food Composition Data Bank, the Food Research Institute in Bratislava realized the training course about documentation food composition data for 11 scientific collaborators from the Kazakh Academy of Nutrition in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The aim of this training was to inform participants about production and use of food database, which are essential in public health, nutrient intake assessment, creating diet models etc. Important part of the training was documentation of food composition data by using the special spread sheet created by the Slovak Food Composition Data Bank in the Food Research Institute, Bratislava in accord with the EuroFIR project. The Slovak Food Composition Data Bank in the frame of the Official Slovak Development Support Program enhances knowledge and creation of the national food composition databases in the Central and Eastern Europe and the Central Asia.

This activity was carried out and funded within the Official Development Support of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development SR and Ministry of Foreign Affairs SR.
