Agrofilm brings abundant harvest again

Audiences can experience 102 documentaries from 28 countries at the 35th International film festival of documentary films from the sphere of agriculture, food production, rural development, science, research and sustainable resource management Agrofilm 2019.

The International Jury will be evaluating the 42 competing films of this year from 14th to 15th September 2019.

The festival week itself starts this year on 30th September and reaches its climax on 4th October. We begin with an opening ceremony on Monday at the premises of NPPC in Lužianky near Nitra at 10.00 AM. On Monday afternoon, the National Jury will also decide on the winner in the category Promotional Film.

The traditional discussion forum takes place as usual at the midpoint of the festival in the conference room at NPPC in Lužianky. This year, it will be dedicated to a uniquely current topic – Food Waste.

As has become a tradition, this year too Agrofilm will come closer to its audience. The wonderful and valuable documentaries will be shown in the Multiplex Mlyny Cinemas in Nitra, at the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra, Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra, Comenius University in Bratislava, Technical University in Zvolen, University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in Košice, and – new this year – the Jessenius Faculty of Medicine in Martin. The Agrofilm documentaries can be enjoyed also in the Synagogue in Brezno and naturally in the conference room at NPPC in Lužianky near Nitra.

The festival reaches its climax on Friday, 4th October 2019 with an award ceremony where the authors of the best submitted films will be announced at 10.00 AM at the Multiplex Mlyny Cinemas Nitra. The film awarded the Grand Agrofilm Award will be shown at the closing ceremony as well as traditionally on the television channel Dvojka RTVS.
